Vintage Sterling Eilat Pendant Necklace, Israel:

This is a large sterling choker teardrop shape pendant with a very fine braided border that catches the light nicely. I believe the stone is eilat, but I don't have a way of testing it, so I cannot be totally sure about that. Stamped "Israel, 925" on the back of the pendant. The "I" and the bottom stroke of the "L" is worn away. The clasp is stamped "925," "AR" (something else partially rubbed out in this but the letters "AR" are clear) and a third stamp reading "Indaerre"--or something close to that. That third stamp on the clasp is very hard to read, even with a 30x loupe and my strong up close vision. Stamped "925" on the spring ring as well. The pendant measures 2.5" high x 1 5/8" wide at the widest points, not including the 4mm bale. The stone is 1.5" high x 1" wide at the widest points. Pendant weighs 32.5 grams, which includes the weight of the green stone. The rope chain is 15" long x 1/8" wide (or approximately 3mm wide) and weighs 11 grams. Some minor surface wear throughout on the silver, commensurate with age and use. Also some small scuffs on the green stone, which are hard to see unless you are specifically looking for them and tilting the pendant at the right angle in the light up close. This estate item is a great statement choker. Overall in very good pre-owned condition, flaws as noted.
Please note that 15" is a short length for a choker. The pendant could be taken off the chain, so it could be put on a longer chain. Sometimes I have vintage sterling pieces which for one reason or another cannot be removed from the chain, but the chain passes through on this one to take it off. The loop for the chain is circular and 4mm so another chain would have to fit into that. The loop for the chain on the pendant is in a fixed position, not a linked bale that moves.
